Richard Benjamin Gooch – MCFHP MAFHP

Firstly, a warm greeting to you. I’m Richard and I am a qualified Foot Health Practitioner. The letters after my name highlight that I am a Member of the College of Foot Health Professionals (MCFHP) and a member of the Association of Foot Health Professionals (MAFHP). I received both my theoretical and clinical training at the prestigious SMAE Institute. I am committed to the practice of the code of ethics, the rules of the association and I hold professional insurance. I am also fully CRB checked.

A Foot Health Practitioner delivers specialist care to your feet and is comparable to some of the care that you would expect to receive from a chiropodist or podiatrist. I deliver a domiciliary service to patients within Worcestershire and South Birmingham. This service includes treatments for the following:

Athletes foot
Bunions
Corns and callus
Cracked heals
Cutting and filing of nails
Fungal nail infections
Ingrown toenails
Thickened and/or split nails
Verrucae
A full neurovascular assessment will always be carried out as standard for diabetic and high-risk patients

What to Expect

The format of a session would start with a full medical history being taken including all past and present medications

Next a neurovascular assessment would be carried out (reassessed every six months), followed by a sanitising preparation of the feet ready for treatment. Treatments will always be carried out using sterilised instruments to avoid any potential cross contamination

The treatment will always be concluded with a sanitising wash of the feet and a moisturising foot massage. Concise and clear written notes on how to care for one’s foot will also be provided to ease possible discomfort and promote cleanliness between each session
